KITTERY, Maine — The Coast Guard cutter Campbell is getting a new commander.

Cmdr. Scott Clendenin takes charge of the 270-foot ship in a ceremony Friday at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery.

The Portsmouth Herald said Clendenin succeeds Cmdr. Jim Munro, who’ll become Coast Guard liaison officer at the U.S. Embassy in Panama.

The Campbell, with a crew of 100, is assigned to homeland security, search and rescue, and law enforcement missions.
