ROBBINSTON – Lesley G. Carson, 92, passed away May 7, 2009, with his family by his side, at Seaside Nursing Home, Portland. Lesley was born May 7, 1917, in Robbinston, son of the late Harry and Bernice Carson. During the Great Depression, Lesley worked in the local tuna plants, sardine factories, making wreaths and cutting Christmas trees. He worked as a foreman at Riviera Factory, Eastport, and as a self-employed carpenter for 40 years. Lesley was a member of Perry Congregational Church where he loved to volunteer his time. He enjoyed being around people, fishing, gardening, flowers and giving a helping hand where needed. In addition to his parents, Lesley was predeceased by his loving wife, Charlotte (Corbett) Carson; a sister and several brothers. Surviving are his three children, Bernard Carson and his wife, Nancy, Barbara Armour, and Sharon Gendron and her husband, Daniel; several grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Perry Congregational Church, Shore Road, Perry. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be after the service at Ridge Cemetery, Robbinston. After the committal, a gathering will be held at the church.
