RENA E. (BRIDGES) CANDAGE BLUE HILL – Rena E. (Bridges) Candage, 57, passed away May 4, 2009, while visiting her son and family in Arizona. She was born April 25, 1952, in Castine, daughter of Merton and Beulah (Snow) Bridges. She worked as a legal secretary from 1971 until shortly before her death. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Rena always made graduations, birthdays, holidays and weddings special with her unique homemade cakes and candies. Rena leaves behind her husband of 37 years, Bruce E. Candage of Blue Hill; son, Matthew of Phoenix and wife, Demi, and their three children, Lisa Candage of Lowell, Mass., Allyson Candage and Katherine Weeks of Phoenix; son, Douglass of Mount Holly, Vt., and his son, Griffin Lucas, of Springfield, Vt.; and sisters, Deena Carter of Sedgwick and Audrey Bowden of Penobscot. Rena will especially be missed by her nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her parents. At Rena’s request, there will be a graveside service 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Mountain View Cemetery, North Blue Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
