HANCOCK and DAVENPORT, Fla. – Nancy J. Butler, 76, died unexpectedly May 7, 2009, at an Ellsworth health care facility. She was born July 18, 1932, in Southwest Harbor, to Sarah J. and Gilford Phinney. A truly loving and special lady, she worked hard in her life and made friends with all she met. She loved her bingo, digging clams and feeding the wildlife and birds wherever she was. She spent her winters in Florida with wonderful friends, but was always anxious to get back to Maine with the rest of her family. She was a one-of-a-kind woman, who never complained and was always looking forward to the next day. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Bohlin of Hancock, Rita Butler and Amanda Pinkham, both of Hancock and Davenport, Fla.; son, Howard Butler and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Ellsworth; the love of her life, grandson, Trevor Bohlin of Hancock; and her family members in Milbridge. She was predeceased by those loved and deeply missed family members: grandsons, Lucas Pinkham and Jason Rankin; and son-in-law, Albert Bohlin Jr. For those who would like to share in Nancy’s remembrance with her family, a service will be held at a later date and time by her children. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
