ROY WILLIAMS HODGDON – Roy Williams, 75, died May 8, 2009, at his home. He was born May 20, 1933, in Houlton, son of Ralph Sr. and Velma (Hamilton) Williams. Roy graduated from Houlton High School in 1950 and was a former member of the National Guard. Roy loved fishing, time at East Grand Lake and morning coffee at the Elm Tree. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda and Robert Coffin of Nantucket, Mass., and Jupiter, Fla., and Tammy and Michael Williams-Dufort of Wells; two sons, Roy and Heidi Williams of Ely, Nev., and their children, Michelle, Jennifer, Michael and Amanda, and Brent Williams of Mount Holly, N.J.; his longtime companion, Barbara V. Merritt, her daughter, Wendy and Charles Spellman, and their children, Cynthia, Brandon, Kerri and Bridget, all of Hodgdon; one sister, Carol and Fred Sewall of Brewer; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Paul, Phyllis Burns and Ralph Jr.; and a nephew, Kevin Grant. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with funeral services being held 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Lunn officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.
