BANGOR and BUCKSPORT – Gladys S. Bagley, 90, passed away May 11, 2009, in Bangor. She was born March 20, 1919, in Columbia Falls, daughter of Harold and Mina (Grant) Sinclair. She married Roy S. Bagley, July 3, 1941 and he passed away April 17, 1990. She was also predeceased by a son, Shelton, in 1943; and her brother, Harold Jr., in 1983. Gladys was a dedicated homemaker. When not battling dirt and clutter, her sworn enemies, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also worked for several years as a salesperson at Longview Furniture Co., Bucksport. She was a member of Verona Grange and Franklin Street United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Julian and his wife, Gloria of Centerville, and Gary and his partner, Danny Samaroo, of Madrid, Spain; three grandchildren, Sarah Gerrish and husband, Wesley, of Bangor, Marcia Bagley of Manchester, N.H., and Keith Bagley of Eliot; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Kristen Gerrish of Bangor; several cousins, nieces and nephews; her extended family, Joe and Paula; and the wonderful staff and residents of Country Villa, Bangor. The family also appreciates the care provided by St. Joseph Hospital and Hospice and the caretakers from A Loving Touch, especially Kim. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will be after at Mailey Hill Cemetery, Columbia.
