EDMUNDS TOWNSHIP – Lydia Ann Preston, 52, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009, with her family by her side at a Bangor hospital. Lydia was born June 17, 1956, in Lubec, the daughter of Hardy and Ruth (Laslie) Preston. She spent her early years in Dennysville, graduating from Shead High School in 1974. Lydia served her country in the U.S. Army. After her military service, Lydia’s work took her to Washington, California and Alaska. In later years she moved back to Dennysville, where she bought a home near her family. Lydia was predeceased by her father, Hardy R. Preston; and her two brothers, Stephen D. Preston and Morris H. Preston. Surviving are her mother, Ruth E. Preston of Edmunds; three brothers, Calvin and wife, Donna, of Dennysville, Dennis and wife, Gail, of Edmunds and George of Edmunds; a sister, Juanita and husband, Larry, of Edmunds; a special nephew, Morris Hardy R. Preston, who she lived with during her illness; many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by the many friends she made during her travels. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Dennysville Cemetery, Dennysville.
