FRENCHVILLE – Martial C. Goyette, 75, passed away May 11, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, at his residence. He was born Oct. 14, 1933, the son of the late Albert and Bertha (Tremblay) Goyette. Martial was named Frenchville Citizen of the Year, in 2004. He was founding member and longtime president of the Black Bear Rod and Gun Club. Being a master craftsman, Martial took great pride assisting in the building and renovating of many establishments such as: the community center, skating rink, SAD 33, St. Luce Parish, and various projects for the fire department. Although he was not an official member of the Legion in Frenchville, he was one of their biggest ticket salesmen; raising money for scholarships to aide students in the area. He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen A. Page of Sinclair; three sons, Marshall P. Goyette of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Michael A. Goyette and Shawn B. Goyette, both of Frenchville; five grandchildren, Stacie Lavoie of Madawaska, Andrea S. Page of Westbrooke, Jessica D. Page, Tiffani L. Goyette and Evan M. Goyette, all of Madawaska; three sisters, Jeanne D’Arc Goyette of Notre Dame Se Ange, Leonardville, Canada, Aimelyne and her husband, Henri, of Carbonneau, Canada, Carmen and her husband, Dennis, of Marcoux, Canada; one brother, Gerard Goyette of Sherbrooke, Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, one grandson, Edward M. Goyette; one sister, Madeline LeClair; and one brother, Aime Goyette. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, at St. Luce Parish, Frenchville. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at Michaud Funeral Home, Frenchville. There will be no visitation the morning of the funeral. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daigle Funeral Home, Madawaska.
