DEXTER – Galen J. Clukey Sr., 77, died May 18, 2009, at a Dexter health care facility. He was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Dexter, son of Joseph and Annie Clukey. He attended Dexter schools, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Galen owned and operated Shell Service Center, Dexter, for many years, and later worked at Dexter Vocational Center until his retirement. He was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Brewer and was a very avid pool player. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Clukey of Dexter; a son, Galen Clukey Jr. of Holden; a daughter and her husband, Jewell and Michael Konieczny of Corinna; a granddaughter, Cassandra Clukey of Hermon; a sister, Winnie Daigle; and a niece, Sylvia Daigle, both of Winslow. He was predeceased by four brothers, Angus, Nazier Sr., Fernald and Nelson; and three sisters, Sylvia Payne, Lily Clukey and Joyce Clukey. Graveside memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with Greg Webber officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
