DETROIT and SOUTH PORTLAND – Mary E. Hennigan, 54, died unexpectedly May 19, 2009, at a Scarborough hospice, after a stroke. She was born Aug. 12, 1954, in Dexter, a daughter of Clair and Mary (Reeves) Gerry. She graduated from Maine Central Institute, Class of 1972, and Pierre’s School of Cosmetology. Mary was a volunteer for hospice and enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading, drawing and taking walks. She is survived by two sons, Sean J. Jones of Pittsfield and Christian A. Jones of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Maghan Jones of South Portland; a brother, Sam and wife, Melissa Gerry, of Detroit; a grandson, Alec Jones; an aunt, Marg Gerry of Farmington; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, at Detroit Village Cemetery. Friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of services at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport.
