LINCOLN – Percy A. Bethune, 76, husband of Vivian (Priest) Bethune, passed away May 23, 2009, at Penobscot Valley Hospital, Lincoln. He was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Fraserville, Nova Scotia, the son of Arch and Greta (McEntee) Bethune. Percy moved to Lincoln in 1956. He worked as a pulp truck driver for Alvin and Hazel Lindsay, and Eastern Corp., A & S Motors Body Shop, Shop ‘n Save and retired as a truck driver for S & S Transportation in 1995. He enjoyed his family, working in his garden, doing repairs about the house, working on his firewood and spoiling his dogs. In addition to his wife, Vivian, he is survived by his son, Robert and Lisa Bethune; two granddaughters, Amy and Jim Michaud, and Michelle and Floyd Wilcox; two great-grandsons, Dylan Michaud and Lance Wilcox, all of Howland; two nieces, Jane and Hervey Clay, and Janice and Lawson Helsor of Lincoln; two nephews, Rod and Beth Lindsay of Monticello and David and Debbie Lindsay of West Enfield; his mother-in-law, Evelena Priest; brother-in-law, Donald Priest, both of Economy, Nova Scotia; a sister-in-law, Donna Colborne of British Columbia; several cou-sins in Nova Scotia, including a special one, Emily and Harold Pittman of Carlton, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Hazel Lindsay of Lincoln and Jane Collins of Bedford, Nova Scotia; his aunt, Grace Rogers of Lincoln; and his father-in-law, Robert Priest of Economy, Nova Scotia. At his request, there will be no services. Interment will be at Town Line Hill Cemetery, Enfield. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
