CALAIS – Nicholas Ronald White, 16, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 23, 2009, in Baring, as a result of an automobile accident. Nick was born July 28, 1992, in Calais, the son of Michelle (Townsend) Hornbrook and stepfather, Gregg Hornbrook, and William White. He was a sophomore at Calais High School. Nick loved sports and enjoyed playing tackle for the Silverado’s for the last four years. He also enjoyed four-wheeling, skate boarding, stunt biking, fishing, playing video games and spending time with his family and friends. Nick was predeceased by his cousin, William “Billy” Townsend; grandparents, William and Donna Hornbrook; great-grandfather, Mac Cushing; and an aunt, Vickie Demmons. Surviving are his mother, Michelle Hornbrook and her husband, Gregg, of Calais; his father, William White and his wife, Debbie, of Robbinston; brother, Derrick White of Calais; sister, Danielle White of Robbinston; grandparents, Martha and Dennis McIntyre of Calais, James Becker of Calais and Annette and Al Coy of Dover-Foxcroft; aunts and uncles, Jennifer Becker of Baring, Jay Becker of Portland, Nancy and Steven Lincoln of Baileyville, Julia and Michael Boies of Baileyville, Gerald Townsend of Limington, David and Catherine Townsend of Calais and Kim and William McVicar of Calais; cousins, William, Tori, Stephen, Isaiah, Melissa, Alex, Maddie, Sophie, Lee, Austin, Ryan, Damon, Scott and Sarah; his four feline companions, Tommy, Bear, Marshmallow and Paws; many other cousins and numerous friends. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Calais United Methodist Church, 849 Main St., Calais, where a celebration of Nick’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Karen MacDuff officiating.
