HERMON – Dorothea B. Green, 93, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft health care facility. She was born March 19, 1916, in St. Albans, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Bickmore) Green. Dorothea was a 1934 graduate of Hartland Academy. She enjoyed a 29-year career as a secretary for the student union and student activates at the University of Maine, Orono. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 87 Good Cheer, Orono, and Snip and Stitch Club, Bangor. Dorothea had a great fondness for the Atlantic Ocean and for her friends at Anglers Restaurant, Newport, where she drove to have lunch every day. She is survived by her niece, Geraldine Cole; great-nieces, Linda Cowan and Beatrice Rosen; great-nephew, Curt Evan Lombard; great-great-nieces, Joy Kennedy, Tamara Leavitt and Christie Lombard; great-great-nephews, Calvin Lombard, Kyle Lombard and Michael Chadbourne; and cousins, Doris Hall and Lois Green-Robinson. In addition to her parents, Dorothea was predeceased by her greatest love, Ernie Renz; sister, Margarite Chisholm; nieces, Barbara Patten and Pauline Lombard; and great-nephews, Eric Patten, Ernest Patten and David Patten. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 1, at Reynolds Family Cemetery, Horseback Road, Unity Pond, Burnham, with Pastor Barry Buzzell officiating.
