CHARLESTON – Lloyd Duthie, 66, died May 27, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 13, 1942, in Port Chester, N.Y., the son of George and Elizabeth Duthie. On Sept. 28, 1963, he married Jane Murdock and in 1970, they moved to Maine where they owned Countryside Restaurant for 27 years. During those years, his employees and customers were his extended family. After retiring in 1997, he and Jane enjoyed trips to the casinos. During the past few years he worked side by side with Scott and Shari at the golf course, making many new friends. After Jane’s death four years ago, he enjoyed his time at the OTB – off-track betting and casino with his friend, Roland and his other OTB buddies. He also enjoyed spending time with his cat, Nuffy. Lloyd leaves behind his son, Scott and his wife, Shari; and his granddog, Kaleigh. He is also survived by his aunt, Evangeline Theriault of Caribou; his sister-in-law, Alice Duthie; his niece, Debbie Duthie and her daughter, Katie, all of Augusta. He is also survived by his “adopted” nieces, Renee, Rachel and Roberta Trafton of Corinth; and special friends, the Novacs of Connecticut, the Holmes of Charleston and the Traftons of Corinth. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth, with the Rev. Cynthia Nickerson and the Rev. Ronald E. Libby officiating. Even though Lloyd did not have cancer, those who wish may make donations in his memory to American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, care of Mike Trafton, 485 Main St., Corinth, ME 04427, as this is an organization close to our family.
