ST. DAVID – Roger Levesque, 64, died peacefully June 3, 2009, surrounded by his family after a courageous fight against cancer. He was born July 4, 1944, in St. David, the son of Gedion and Ida (Deschenes) Levesque. Roger retired from Fraser Paper nine years ago as a pipe fitter. He was a member of Madawaska Fire Department. He is survived by three sons and their wives, Wayne and Gena of Florida, Dale and Toni of St. David, and Jason of South Dakota; one daughter, Dawn and her fiance, Scott Albert, of Hamlin; one grandson, Chandler Levesque of Florida; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Jeannine (Wilkie) Peck of Ashford, Conn., Muriel and Ted Mowen of Florida Plantation, Geraldine and Reginald Lavoie of Madawaska, Jacqueline Belanger of Hartford, Conn., Nennette and Robert Guerrette of Madawaska, Charlene Levesque of Madawaska, Roland and Betty Levesque of St. Augustine, Fla., Vernon and Dianne Levesque of Madawaska, Donald and Helen Levesque of Madawaska, Herman and Marie Levesque of Hebron, Conn., Lena and Ronald Sirois of Madawaska, Dan and Phyllis Levesque of Madawaska, Jim and Diane Levesque of St. Agatha, Diane and Joe Tracy of East Windsor, Conn., Mike and Peggy Levesque of Durham, Carol and Jesse Waltman of Madawaska; one goddaughter, Sarah Helgison of Fort Kent; many, many, many nieces and nephews. Roger was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Gilda Corbin; two brothers, Marius and Armand; and one sister, Marie. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Grand Isle, with the Rev. James Albert officiating. Burial will be at St. Gerard Cemetery.
