MACHIAS – Maude (Wilcox) McKinley, 85, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Marshall Healthcare & Rehabilitation, Machias, after a long illness. Born in South Lubec, she was the beloved wife for nearly 50 years of the late Frederick McKinley. She is survived by her children, Dennis McKinley of Torrington, Conn., Michael McKinley and his wife, Anita, of Cutler and Kathryn (McKinley) Zervos and her husband, Emmanuel, of West Hartford, Conn. Maude was also the grandmother to eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Maude and Fred lived in Hartford, Conn., since 1945, returning each summer to Cutler, where they grew up. Maude was a longtime employee at Hartford Hospital and a member of its Quarter Century Club, retiring in 1991 as a nurse. She will be fondly remembered as a good and loving mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be held 12:30 p.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Cutler United Methodist Church, with a funeral service 1 p.m. with Pastor Patti Sears officiating.
