HOULTON – George H. Dubay, 84, died June 8, 2009, at his residence. He was born June 27, 1924, at Stockholm, the son of Patrick J. and Rose C. (Lavoie) Dubay. George served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was awarded the Purple Heart and was a member of the VFW. He was a communicant of Saint Mary of the Visitation Church and a member of Knights of Columbus. George worked for more than 50 years throughout Aroostook, Washington and Penobscot counties as a master floor mechanic with many of those years spent with his co-worker and friend, Ray Cunliffe. He is survived by four sons, Larry Dubay of Gatesville, Texas, David Dubay of Crawford, Glenn Dubay of Plano, Texas, and Dale Dubay of Old Town; one daughter, Susan Caylor of Saco; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilford Dubay; and one sister, Teresa Dubay, both of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rena; brothers, Mitchell and Dennis; and sister, Mildred Keitz. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church with the Rev. David Raymond, celebrant. Interment will be at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
