OLD TOWN – Carol Jean Saunders, 64, died June 9, 2009, at her residence. She was born March 15, 1945, in Bangor, the daughter of Francis E. and Madeline R. (Grant) Caruso. Carol spent several memorable years living in Daytona Beach, Fla., where she truly enjoyed the sun, ocean and the beach. She is survived by three sons, Douglas Trask and wife, Nancy, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Tony Trask and wife, Phoebe, of Glenburn and Richard Modery and wife, Jen, of Orrington; brothers, Richard Boynton and wife, Pat, of Iowa, Donald Boynton and wife, Linda, of Eddington, Francis “Spike” Caruso of New Hampshire, Robert Caruso and wife, Vicki, of Hampden and Frederick “Ted” Caruso and wife, Susan, of Holden; sisters, Linda Caruso of Glenburn, Suzie Tippin and husband, Chuck, of Tennessee, Judy Turcotte and husband, Raymond, of Glenburn; a sister-in-law, Shirley Boynton of Glenburn; grandchildren, Dougie, Tony, Megan, Amber and Andrew; three great-grandchildren; friends, Steve and Delores, and her many friends at Marsh Island Apartments; several nieces and nephews; and her cockatiel, Buddy. Carol was predeceased by a son, Andrew Modery; and by a brother, Gerald “Jerry” Boynton. Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering to celebrate Carol’s life noon-3 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at the Modery residence, 606 Center Drive, Orrington.
