HAMLIN – Joseph Anthoney Santana, 65, passed away May 26, 2009, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Caribou. He worked with his father as a farmer since he was 17 years old and then joined the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and Germany. He was predeceased by his sister, Carol Jean. Joseph is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia A. Santana; his children, Joseph Jr., Rebecca, Shelley (Santana) Torres and Mathew; stepdaughter, Patricia A. Hunt; stepson, Thomas Hunt Jr.; sisters, Agnes Collins, Margaret Santana and Beatrice Santana; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Anthoney, Christopher, Patrick, Robert, Wayne, Pricilla and Sherry. Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
