MILLINOCKET – Charles W. Fling Sr. went to rest in the arms of the Lord Saturday June 13, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 17, 1950, in Lincoln, the son of Lewis Jr. and Bernice “Bunny” (Gee) Fling. Some of Charlie’s best times were spent hunting and fishing with his family and friends, strumming on his guitar, reading, playing with his grandchildren, and simply enjoying the great outdoors. He is survived by the love of his life, companion of 17 years, Cathleen Flanagan, of Millinocket, whom he met as a young boy; his children, Jodi Davis and partner, Walt Corsa, of Port St. Joe, Fla., Dawn Difrederico, Cory Fling and Charlie Fling Jr., all of Brewer; and their mother, Pam Brewer. He was “Grampy” to Dylan, Jordan, and Madison Davis, Kennedy Corsa, Taylor and Julia Difrederico, and Drew Fling. His second family, Susan and Randy Rand of Old Town, Lauren Flanagan and fianc?, Anthony Rheaume of Winthrop, and William Flanagan of Bangor; special “Gaga” to Bailey Bernier, Aiden Owen, Lily Rand and Tara Flanagan; siblings, Susan and Rob Allen of Prospect and Robert Fling and partner, Robin Stephens, of Bangor; brother-in-law and best friend, David Flanagan; special aunt, Shirlie Mackin; lifelong friend, “Skip” McDonnell; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great friends and neighbors; and his little blonde Maggie, will miss their rides and times snuggling. Charlie was predeceased by his parents, brother, Lewis Fling III; distinguishable friends, Cory “Digger” Manzo, Bobby “Nick” Nicholson and Bupman. A private gathering will be held.
