ELLSWORTH and SORRENTO – Dorothy Y. Perry passed quietly June 17, 2009, due to complications with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Dorothy was born March 13, 1922, in Gouldsboro, the daughter of the late Annie Beth Young Moore. Mrs. Perry was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, who enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles and reading. She was well known amongst family for her Sunday dinners. She is survived by three daughters, Esther (Dusti) Clement and husband, Dwayne, of Sorrento, Dorothy’s last home, Donna Holmes and husband, Blaine, of Ellsworth and Beverly Astbury of Sedgwick; and a son, Dennis Perry and wife, Joyce, of Sorrento. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian Clement and wife, Patricia, Craig Clement, Erin Eggers and husband, Dan, Melissa Leyendecker and husband, Dustin, Jeffrey Miller, Daniel Briggs, Wanda Astbury and husband, Alden, Shelley Spivey and husband, Steve, Sherri Lincoln and husband, Mark, Karen Sandberg, and Kaye Cyrus and husband, Steve; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Myra Parritt and Durrell Moore. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Edgar in 1985; her daughter, Darlene in 1990; a grandson, Michael Denny in 1987; a grandson, Benjamin Perry in 2008; and by two infant grandsons. Services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
