LINCOLN – Lillian B. Lawrence passed away June 19, 2009, at Penobscot Valley Hospital, Lincoln. Lillian was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Lincoln. She graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1951 and joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War. It was in the U.S. Army where she met her late husband, Roger Lawrence. Lillian was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. You may remember seeing Lillian’s smiling face behind the cashier counter at Sampson’s Super Market and J.J. Newberry’s. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Patricia Rollins and her husband, Gary Rollins, of Kenduskeag; her son, William Lawrence and his wife, Kathy, of Bangor; a brother, Sterling Brown of Milo; a sister, Betty Cadieux of Arizona; a special brother-in-law, Roger Cole; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one on the way, several nieces and nephews. At Lillian’s request, there will be no viewing. Friends of the family and relatives are invited to a graveside service 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Cynthia Nickerson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Penobscot Valley Hospital, P.O. Box 368, Lincoln, ME 04457.
