ISSAQUAH, Wash. – Raymond Arnold Cox passed away June 8, 2009. He was born June 11, 1931, in Bangor, the eldest son of Ora Roundy Cox and Raymond Joseph Cox, who worked at the Bangor Daily News for 48 years and retired as production manager. He attended Bangor High School, where he was a star football player, and the University of Maine, where he was also a star football player. He served as a first lieutenant In the U.S. Army. After his military service he graduated from Boston University with a degree in law. He practiced law in Bangor and relocated to the West Coast in 1958. He was employed by Boeing Co. in various managerial positions for 32 years. He married Nancy Christensen in 1962. He retired from Boeing Co. in 1990 and pursued interests in writing and international trade. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sister, Marie V. Gould of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; brothers, Richard G. Cox of Carmel and Dale L. Cox of San Diego; and niece, Valerie J. Gould of Rancho Mirage, Calif. Private graveside services will be held.
