DOVER-FOXCROFT – Frances Roberts Glover, wife of the late William G. Glover Sr., died June 22, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was the daughter of Elmer E. and Mary (Connelly) Roberts of Bangor. She graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1940, and Bangor Maine School of Commerce, now Husson University, Class of 1943, where she was a member of Epsilon Tau Epsilon sorority. She taught at Foxcroft Academy from 1943 to 1945 before going to the University of Maine to get her Bachelor of Science in education. She taught at Sangerville High School and then with her husband owned and operated Riverside Greenhouse, Dover-Foxcroft. She later worked as a legal secretary at the firm of C. W. & H. M. Hayes until her retirement in 1988. She was a former member and past president of the Molasto Club and a member and past president of the GFWC Miosac Club, both clubs being members of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, the Bernadettes of St. Thomas, the Reading Club at Thompson Free Library and Piscataquis Regional YMCA. She was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years, and spent many hours working for the Band Boosters of Foxcroft Academy. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth and her husband, Michael Wiers, of St. Albans, and Mary Lahti of Kingston, N.H.; one son, William Glover and his wife, Debra, of Portland; two grandsons, Matthew Wiers of St. Albans and Gregory Wiers and his wife, Dawn, of Hartland; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Bryan Wiers of Hartland; a brother, Charles Roberts of Bangor; a brother-in-law, John Glover and his wife, Barbara, of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Father Mark Nolette, celebrant. Burial will be in the family lot at Rural Grove Cemetery.
