PRESQUE ISLE – Robert L. “Duke” Killam, 70, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at an Eagle Lake health care facility. He was born April 21, 1939, the son of Robert A. Killam Jr. and stepmother, Margaret. Duke, as he was known to his family and friends, loved to hunt and watch NASCAR. His favorite driver was Rusty Wallace. He is survived by his wife, Marie (Butler) Killam of Presque Isle; a son, Wayne of El Paso, Texas; four daughters, Theetra Savage of Richmond, Amy Vega of El Paso, Texas, Duchess Turnick of Newry and Gail Killam of Caribou; three grandchildren, Sarah Vega, Ali Turnick and Kaity Turnick; a sister, Jean Hoak of Claremore, Okla.; and a half sister, Geri Gurney of Gardiner. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Larry Palmer officiating. Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service. Committal services will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond.
