ALTON – Wayne E. Bailey, 64, passed away unexpectedly June 23, 2009, at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1945, the son of Royce and Marion (Drake) Bailey. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman, a proud member of the National Rifle Association and a skilled pool player. Wayne is survived by his loving companion of 26 years, Dawnette “Bear” Carver and her son, Kris; his children, Donnie Steeves and wife, Cheryl, Terri Wilson and husband, Jim, Heidi Bailey, Kristi Hall and her husband, Chuck, and W. Royce “Bim” Bailey; his 15 grandchildren; his sister, Patricia Bailey Couch; and his nephews, John, Jeff and Glenn. He is also survived by his dogs, Rambo, Molly and Black Jack; along with many close friends. Wayne was predeceased by his parents; his niece, Kelly Mirante; his dog, Moxie; and his cat, Kit Kat. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at his home, 27 Spruce Lane, Alton.
