ORLAND – Doris Ann Merry, 50 year old resident of Orland, Maine, and loved by so many, passed away suddenly in her home on Wednesday, June 24, 2009. She was born on December 20, 1958, in Cheverly, Maryland. Predeceased by her parents, Ida and Louis Ackerman. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Eugene; son, Dustin; daughter, Tracy and her husband, Brian Kirk, of West Chester, Pennsylvania; sisters, Margie Woodruff, Charlotte Neff and Jacqueline Miller; and granddaughter, Emily Kirk. Doris’s interest included family genealogy research, round dancing with her husband, sewing, cooking, working to complete her home and spending time with family and friends on Toddy Pond. Family and friends will gather for visitation at 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm Street, Bucksport, with the Rev. Linda Smith officiating. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Athearn Cemetery, Anson, Maine.
