OLD TOWN – Gloria T. Higgins, 79, wife of the late Richard W. Higgins, died peacefully June 26, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Old Town, a daughter of Albert Henry and Flora Mary (Ayotte) Fournier. Gloria enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the large family gatherings or the monthly “Girls Night Out.” She also enjoyed crafts, playing the lottery and watching television. She is survived by five children, Gail Roberts and her husband, Bill, of Niceville, Fla., Cheryl Valley and her partner, David Granston, of Franklin, Mike Higgins and his wife, Cindy, of Milford, Tom Higgins and his partner, Rhonda Hadley, of Milford and Sue St. Louis and her husband, Rick, of Old Town; nine grandchildren, Shene Roberts, Steven Roberts, Janelle Emerson and her husband, Al, Jami Martell and her husband, Adam, R.T. Higgins, Steven St. Louis, Jon St. Louis and his girlfriend, Gail Thibeault, Jen St. Louis and her boyfriend, Greg Thibeault, and Mindy St. Louis; three great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Makayla Emerson and Cameron Martell; sister, Connie Smey of Boston; sister-in-law, Althea Fournier of Bradley; special friends, Karen and Gary; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; a brother, Kenneth Fournier and his wife, Henrietta; brother, Richard Fournier; and brother-in-law, Ed Smey. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Parish, formerly Holy Family Parish, 429 Main St., Old Town. Burial will be after at St. Joseph Cemetery. Immediately after all services, everyone is invited to a light luncheon and continued fellowship at the parish hall.
