CARIBOU – Ruth D. Patterson, 68, wife of the late Robert W. Patterson, went to be with her Lord June 26, 2009, in Caribou. She was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Caribou, daughter of the late Ralph A. and Ada Belle (Leeman) Bubar. Mrs. Patterson was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She is survived by her daughter, Terry L. Fortin of Caribou; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Anna Patterson of Woodland; a stepdaughter, Judy Benard and her husband, Norman, of Presque Isle; one sister, Dolores Doolin of Winchester, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Allen, Deven, Kylee and Sierra Patterson, Crystal LaPointe and Ray Allan Gaplin; four great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Theodore Patterson and his wife, Lula; a sister-in-law, Hazel Hersey, all of Limestone; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Carol Everett and a special great-niece, Angela Coyote. Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2000; a grandson, Lee, in 1999; and a son-in-law, Ricky Fortin, in 2007. The family thanks the staff of the Maine Veterans’ Home, Caribou, Visiting Nurses of Aroostook and Cary Medical Center for the fine care they gave to Ruth throughout the past several years. Friends may call 2 p.m. until the time of services 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with Pastor Matt Palmer officiating.
