KENDUSKEAG and MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – Joan L. Ames, 77, wife of the late Donald Ames, died June 27, 2009. She was born June 25, 1932, in Corinth, the daughter of William and Genie Rodman. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Cox, Genie Leavell, Douglas Cox and Joanne, Robert Cox, Cynthia Cox, Herbert Cox and Khristie; special nephews, Tony Pinto, Terry Pinto and Sherry and their children, Noah and Gavin; grandchildren, Curtis Congdon, Brian Congdon and Faith, Amber, Arielle, and Colten Cox, Genie McCain and Zachary Stentz; one great-grandchild, Lillian Faith Congdon; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna Scott and Tim; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Ames and Eunice, and Douglas Ames; sisters-in-law, Ann Lenz, Nancy Campbell, Joyce Boone, Elinor Jackson and Louine Sullivan; and special friends, Tara House and Kim Cox. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Kenduskeag Cemetery, Kenduskeag, with the Rev. Michelle St. Cyr officiating.
