HOULTON – Lois M. McPartland, 81, died June 30, 2009, surrounded by her family at home. She was born June 6, 1928, in Cary Plantation, the daughter of John and Christine (Mersereau) Moore. She was valedictorian of her class at Ricker Classical Institute and attended Ricker College. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse in New Limerick. She married James Frank McPartland, Sept. 23, 1950, and worked with him for years at J.H. McPartland and Sons. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Visitation Parish and was a member of Houlton Council of Catholic Women, Houlton Country Club and Houlton Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, golf and bridge, and was never happier than when spending time with her family in large gatherings in her home or cottage at East Grand Lake. She is survived by her six children, Margaret of Belgrade, Anne and her husband, Charlie Dodd, of Mount Vernon, N.H., James M. and his wife, Hollie, of Houlton, Frank and his wife, Carla, of New Limerick, Mary and her husband, Dean Waring, of Brunswick, and Sarah and her husband, Shawn Good, of Hampden; 12 adored grandchildren, Emily and Laura Dodd, Christopher and Julia Bean, Andrew and Amie McPartland, Mallory and Martha McPartland, James and Joseph Waring, and Sam and Daniel Good; a brother, William Moore of Connecticut; a sister-in-law, Jeannette Moore of South Casco; her aunt, Katherine “Dolly” Coleman; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nov. 7, 2008; by her sister, Mary Hand; and her brother, Herbert Moore. Lois’ visitation will be private. Friends and relatives are invited to share in a celebration of her life noon Thursday, July 2, at St. Mary of the Visitation Church, Houlton, with Father David Raymond, celebrant. Internment will be at Old St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends are welcomed to a reception in the parish hall immediately after a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations to James F.
