PUNTA GORDA, Fla., and CARIBOU – Geraldine Suitter, 56, passed away June 7, 2009, after a long illness. She was born April 15, 1953, at Eagle Lake, the daughter of Louis T. Saucier and Rose A. (Sirois) Saucier. Geraldine moved to Caribou with her family in 1957 and attended Caribou schools until her graduation in 1971. She worked in various occupations during her lifetime, including hairdressing, clerical and at banking institutions. She married Marvin Suitter of Houlton in 1975 and they resided in Houlton for a short time before moving to Salem, N.H., where they lived until moving to Florida in 1988. Geraldine’s home in New Hampshire was the envy of her neighborhood with the beautiful floral arrangements and well kept grounds, which were the creation of her loving husband, Marvin. Geraldine was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Rose; a brother, Eugene; and 23-year-old son, Shawn. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Marvin, is a son, Scott of Florida; grandson, Joshua of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sisters, Jeannette Albert and husband, Don, Joan Steeves and her husband, Carroll, all of Caribou, Jacqueline Stephens and her husband, Robert, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; brothers, Gerald and his wife, Geraldine, James and his wife, Nancy, all of Caribou, Gilman and his wife, Kerri, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held June 13 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda, Fla. A family service will be held in Houlton at a later date.
