SEAL HARBOR – Carolyn L. MacCrae, 73, died July 10, 2009, at a Mount Desert Island hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Etna, the daughter of Arthur H. and Eleanor M. (Fish) Leeman. Carolyn was educated at Longfellow School and Machias Teachers College. She taught in Etna for four years. She then became a trained emergency room technician and worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor. She enjoyed watching movies and cooking. She was a past member of Carmel Congregational Church and she was the youngest master of Mount Etna Grange No. 38. She is survived by her son, Gary MacCrae and wife, Pammella, of Etna; daughters, Mary Prescott and husband, David, of Bangor and Lori DiGuardia and husband, Dominic, of Seal Harbor; three grandchildren, Brandon Prescott of Bangor, Christopher and Cameron MacCrae of Etna; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Rosemary and Charles Stephenson; and special companion, her granddog, Jordan. She was predeceased by her husband, Guy E. MacCrae Jr. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Somesville, Mount Desert.
