LINCOLN – Penny Waneta (Chandler) Darr, 44, wife of Thomas Darr, died July 14, 2009, at a Bangor hospital, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. She was born Feb. 6, 1965, in Lincoln, the daughter of Roland Chandler Sr. and Victoria (Milner) Chandler. Penny was a graduate of Mattanawcook Academy, Class of 1985. She worked at Penobscot Valley Hospital in the housekeeping department. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Lincoln, TOPS No. 203 and was actively involved with the Girl Scouts for 10 years. She enjoyed camping, shopping, going out to eat and riding motorcycles. She loved the color purple; her dog, Brutus; and her cat, Fluffy. In addition to her husband, Thomas of Lincoln, she is survived by two children, Emily and Matthew Darr, both of Lincoln; two brothers, Roland Chandler Jr., and his wife, Brenda, and Dayne Chandler and his wife, Lisa, all of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Young officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Autism Society of Maine. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
