National unemployment is nearly 10 percent, prompting some economists to suggest another federal stimulus package, perhaps more carefully targeted to create private sector jobs, is needed. Would such a package have a chance of winning Congressional approval?

Would it work? Or is it too much of a gamble, digging an even deeper deficit hole? Did the Obama administration err by allowing Republicans to whittle the first stimulus down to $878 billion? Or has the stimulus not had a chance to work?
