BREWER and SUMMERFIELD, Fla. – Rodney Arnold Ward, 70, of Summerfield, Fla., died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Arbor Village, Wildwood, Fla. He was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Brewer, the son Irving L. Ward and Evelyn (Scripture) Ward. He moved to the Summerfield, Fla., area from Maine in 1983, and was a member of Belleview United Methodist Church, South Marion Grange, South Marion Historical Society and Belleview Moose Lodge. Mr. Ward was a greens keeper at Spruce Creek South Golf Course. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Ward of Summerfield, Fla.; daughters, Robin Day of Morriston, Fla., and April Beal of Anthony, Fla.; sons, Michael Ward of Summerfield, Fla., and Timothy Ward of Hendersonville, N.C.; sister, Judy Orcutt of Plymouth; brother, Phillip Ward of Bangor; and 10 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Ward. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 S.E. Robinson Road, Belleview, Fla., with the Rev. Debbie Allen officiating.
