MILLINOCKET – Harold E. Bossie, 85, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009, at a Millinocket health care facility. He was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Millinocket, the son of Leo and Zethie M. (Brooks) Bossie. Harold was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Millinocket; American Legion Post No. 80, Millinocket; and Disabled American Veterans’. He had enlisted with the U.S. Army and was trained and received his certification as machinist. He was employed with Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket, as a master machinist for 33 years. After his retirement in 1975, Harold enjoyed working on large projects such as remodeling his homes and inventing unusual machinery and techniques for assisting the completion of these projects – a true engineer at heart. Harold is survived by this wife, Hazel Michaud Bossie of Millinocket; four children, Harold Bossie Jr. of Great Falls, Mont., Ronald Bossie and his wife, Ruth, of Millinocket, Cheryl Marie Bossie Hawes of Junction City, Kan., and Leo Bossie of Buxton; a stepson, Wayne Nightingale of Millinocket; a stepdaughter, Julia Kunz and her husband, Jonathan, of Hampden; many grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by a brother, Hampy Bossie. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
