EAGLE LAKE – James Deprey, 79, died peacefully July 16, 2009, at a Presque Isle health care facility. He was born Feb. 12, 1930, the son of Mitchel and Modeste (Daigle) Deprey. James was self-employed as a crane operator for many years. His favorite pastimes were watching television sports. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army, having served his country during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Smart-Soucy Post No. 176, Eagle Lake, and VFW LeBlanc-Junkins Post No. 9699, Ashland. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Doris (Pelletier) Deprey; three children, Debra Deprey of Winterville, Douglas Deprey of Eagle Lake and Donna and her husband, Van Miranda, of Denver; four grandchildren, Abby and Julia Miranda of Denver and Dylan and Shawn Deprey of Winterville; two sisters, Rolda Young of Port Richie, Fla., and Dorothy Violette of Eagle Lake; one brother, Jerry Deprey of Port Richie, Fla.; many nieces and nephews. In addition to both his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Michael Deprey, Aug. 10, 2008. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Committal services, with full military honors, will be at the parish cemetery. Services will be conducted by Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
