DANFORTH – The Rev. Clinton Oliver Kinney, 91, husband of Evelyn (Cyr) Kinney, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early July 22, 2009, with his loving family by his side. He was born May 3, 1918, in Brookton, known as Kinney Nation, the son of Convus and Amanda (Neal) Kinney. He was the ninth of 12 children. He attended school in Eaton, town of Danforth, four years of high school from 1931 to 1935 in Searsport, where he was honor essayist, one year of post-graduate school and he attended college at Husson. He worked for Maine Central and Canadian Pacific railroads for 36 years. Rev. Kinney preached for more than 50 years at many different churches. He was loved by many. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family. In addition to his beloved wife of seven years, Evelyn, of Danforth, Clint leaves behind his precious children, Joan Scanlin and her husband, Winston, of Easton, Alan Kinney and his wife, Linda, and Jean Dwyer and her husband, Emery, all of Molunkus; a very special and precious granddaughter, Jo-Ellen Scott and her husband, Greg, of Danforth; daughters-in-law, Phyllis Kinney of Medway and Mary Kinney of Greenville; grandchildren, Ivana Kinney, Dawn Fitzgerald, Jayme Scanlin, Corey Kinney, Michelle Lazore, Jessica Kinney, Heather Kinney, Heath Kinney, Shannon Dwyer, Matthew and Patrick Scott; great-grandchildren, Nekia, Kyrie, Michaela, Michael, Taylor, Lindsay, Hunter, Ridge, Dean Alan, Jessyca, Sawyer, Whitney, Lilly, MacKenzie and Ryleigh; great-great-grandchildren, Hunter and Cooper; stepchildren, Faith Codega and her husband, Tony, Joan Drake and her husband, David, and A.J. Drake and his wife, Carrie; and stepgrandchildren, Anthony, Noah, Emilio, Gianna, Annie, David, Dakota, Jordan and Payton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Geneva (McLaughlin) Kinney; two sons, Ivan “Tippy” Kinney and Dean Kinney; one grandson, Shane Dwyer; a great-granddaughter, Meagan Fitzgerald; seven sisters and four brothers. Friends may call 1-8 p.m. Monday, July 27, at Calvary Gospel Assembly, Danforth. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Frank Godley officiating. Interment will be at Eaton Cemetery, Danforth. There will be a celebration of his life after the interment at the Robert McKinnon building.
