MILFORD – Elizabeth Diane “Betty” (Soule) Hesseltine, who was born Sept. 16, 1939, passed unexpectedly into the Lord’s kingdom and into her husband’s waiting arms, July 24, 2009. Betty was a certified nurse’s aide, home health aide and worked for hospice. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Betty also enjoyed her grandson’s hockey games, where she was known as “Hockey Nana,” and loved by all. Betty is survived by her five children, Charles “Chuck” Hesseltine Jr. and wife, Lorie, of Meriden, Conn., Reginald “Reggie” Hesseltine of Meriden, Conn., Teresa Taylor of Meriden, Conn., James Hesseltine and wife, Linda, of Meriden, Conn., and Jodie Higgins and husband, Nick, of Milford; eight grandchildren, Charles Hesseltine III and Eric Hesseltine, Robin and Steven Taylor, Amanda Lovejoy, James E. Hesseltine, Brandon and Tyler Higgins; one brother, Robert Soule and his wife, Sandra, of Meriden, Conn.; and her best friend, Jeanette Soule. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Edward Hesseltine Sr.; and brothers, Elwin Soule and Jay Soule. There will be a graveside service for family and friends 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, at Milford Cemetery. Reception will be afterward at the home of Nick and Jodie Higgins.
