BIRCH HARBOR – Gwendolyn N. Renwick, after a brave battle with Lewy Body Dementia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, July 26, 2009, with family at her side at a Milbridge health care facility. She was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Gouldsboro, daughter of the late Orton and Jessie (Lindsey) Myrick. She was a supportive partner in the ministry of her late husband, the Rev. James Renwick, serving for 35 years. She was a member of Birch Harbor, Eastbrook and Warren Baptist churches, where she taught vacation Bible school and worked with the church’s youth and women’s groups. She was also a member of Tres Dias and King’s Daughters of which she was past president. Gwendolyn was among the members of the first graduating class of Sumner High School, Sullivan. She enjoyed painting, sewing and quilting, gardening, picnics, camping with her family and reading and was well known for her caring personality. Family members include her four children, James William Renwick Jr. and wife, Diane, Johnathan Renwick and wife, Vicky, Roxanne Malloy and husband, James, and Timothy Renwick and wife, Sherri; grandchildren, Davey, Trevor, Jimmy, Jeff, Joey, Kristina and Jack; and great-grandchildren, Ian, Natalie, Reece and Wyliam. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, the Rev. James William Renwick Sr.; and her sister, Rita Johnson. Services for Gwendolyn will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge, with Pastor Randy Wilbur officiating.
