INDIAN TOWNSHIP – Wild Adam Zilenski, 92, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Calais Regional Hospital. Wild was born April 13, 1917, in New Haven, Conn., son of the late Joseph and Helen (Kukowska) Zilenski. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Corps with the 563 AAF Base Unit as a medical technician. Throughout his life, Wild was a dairy farmer and a dedicated employee of Cianbro. He loved to farm, fish, garden and had a passion for eagles and the Native American culture. Wild was a passionate and caring gentleman, fostering more than 40 children. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by first wife, Noella Zilenski; his second wife, Helen (Lola) Zilenski; and his brothers and sisters. Surviving are his sister-in-law, Estelle Neptune and her family of Indian Township; close friends, Steve and Brenda Goodridge, Charlie Harrison, Doc and Wayne Palmer; and numerous other friends. Visiting hours will be held starting noon Thursday, July 30, until 11 a.m. Saturday at the home of Estelle Neptune, 37 Hemlock Point Road, Indian Township. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Tribal Cemetery, Peter Dana Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Homes, Calais and Eastport.
