BRYANT POND – Brenda Lee Mason went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly July 28, 2009. She was born Jan. 12, 1961, the daughter of Shirley A. Richards and Daniel E. McGurn Sr. Beloved mother, grandmother, companion and friend, Brenda will be sadly missed but always remembered for her kindness and encouraging smile. Brenda’s most cherished hobbies were knitting and crocheting. Christmas won’t be the same without her handmade socks and hats. She also enjoyed diet coke, sunflowers, her jobs, the Christmas Tree Shop, dancing at the Funky Red Barn and her dog, Quincy. Brenda graduated from Orono High School, the Red Riots, in 1979. Brenda had worked at the Bethel Big Apple for many years. She was also employed at Crossroads and seasonally at the Shipyard, Newry. Brenda is survived by a brother, Daniel McGurn Jr. and his family; a sister, Gwen Pearl and her family of Orono; her “spousal equivalent,” Stuart Wentworth; and her children, Tabatha Dyer and her boyfriend, Christopher Janace, Kasey Mason and her fiance, Alex Gallant, and Sabrina Mason and her boyfriend, Ryan Wallace. Brenda was the proud Nana of 10 grandchildren, Natasha, 11, Camden, 9, Alyssa, 7, Savannah, 7, Camry-Le, 6, Matthias, 5, Connor, 5, Kadince, 2, Peyton, 1, and the newest addition Trevon, 2 weeks. Brenda was predeceased by her mother, Shirley A. Richards; and her father, Daniel E. McGurn Sr. Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Bethel Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Chuck Mason officiating.
