TONAWANDA, N.Y. – Norine R. (Foster) Ciemny passed from this life peacefully July 27, 2009. She was born Aug. 2, 1958, in Dover-Foxcroft. All who cared for her were impressed by her strength, courage and positive attitude throughout her long battle with cancer. Norine is survived by her husband, David; and her two sons, Chadwick Gallison of Aiken, S.C., and Nicholas Gallison of Tonawanda, N.Y., who shared in her care at home the last few months. She is also survived by her parents, Sheldon and Wanda Foster of Sangerville; three brothers and their wives, Steven and Sharon of Dexter, Andrew and Tammy of Dover-Foxcroft, and Nathan and Nikki of Taylors, S.C.; several nieces and nephews. Norine also leaves behind a close friend, Jim Gallison. A remembrance was held by her immediate family July 31 at Letchworth State Park, Castile, N.Y., where she and Dave were married a year ago. Her family in Maine will gather for fellowship 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at her brother’s home in Dexter.
