MONTICELLO – Sharon B. Delong, 66, died July 30, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born July 19, 1943, in Houlton, the daughter of Laurence and Pansy (Adams) Brown. Sharon was employed with the U.S. Federal Government for 37 years. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was a loyal friend, and enjoyed spending her time reading and snow sledding. Sharon is survived by her husband, Eugene Delong of Monticello; her daughter, Lezli Delong-Leyva and her husband, Manuel, of La Union, N.M.; stepson, Eugene “Chuck” Delong Jr. and his wife, Norma, of Harrison Township, Mich.; stepdaughter, Elizabeth “Tootie” Bell and her husband, Drake, of Brewer; three grandchildren, Laurence, Madison and Liam Leyva of La Union, N.M.; seven stepgrandchildren, Lee, Kendra, Siara, Kristen, Kelley, Jonathan and Isaac; five brothers, Doug Brown, Michael Brown, Glen Brown, Lawrence Brown and Jim Brown; two sisters, Linda Snarski and Nancy Brown; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lauri Jones; brothers, Butch and Herbert Brown; and sister, Dawn Farnham. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church with a time of fellowship after in the church hall.
