ISABELLE B. HOPKINS DEXTER – Isabelle B. Hopkins, 95, died Aug. 5, 2009, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born March 7, 1914, in Dexter, the daughter of Albert and Erma (Flanders) Bentley. She graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Dexter. She worked at Ramsey & Gates and later at Western Auto Store. She was a member of the Rebekah’s and Order of the Eastern Star, Dexter, for many years and held all of the offices. She was active in the community, volunteered for Meals for ME and helped many people with rides for groceries and doctor appointments. She was predeceased by her husband, Horace W. Hopkins in 1979; eight sisters; a son-in-law, Roy Dow; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hopkins. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Dow of Dexter; a son, Andrew B. Hopkins of East Millinocket; grandchildren, Diane Santoro and her husband, Robert, Sandra Verba and her husband, Linas, Julie Hopkins, Sheri Hopkins, Scott Hopkins and his wife, Karen, and Wendy Babcock and her husband, Roger; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alyssa, Adrianna and Garrett; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, with Pastor Lois Field officiating and the members of Order of the Eastern Star participating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
