LINNEUS – Preston E. Adams, 89, went to his heavenly home Aug. 3, 2009. He was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Linneus, the son of Lester and Eva (Seeley) Adams. Preston served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Panama and was a member of the Veterans’ of Foreign Wars. He was employed by Ora Mooers for many years, Hall Security Co., for Louisiana Pacific and most recently by Andy’s IGA. Preston is survived by his wife of 63 years, Madeline (Bates) Adams of Linneus; three daughters, Patricia Hersey of Oakfield, Pauline Crane and her husband, Steve, of Houlton and Diane Nason and her husband, Leigh, of Linneus; three grandchildren, James Hersey and his wife, Candy, of Smyrna, Wanda Jandreau and her husband, Marty, of Edgewood, Md., and Leanna Nason of Linneus; three great-grandchildren, Adrian and Jordi Jandreau of Edgewood, Md., and William Hersey of Smyrna; two sisters, Mildred Tidd of Houlton and Betty Stone and her husband, David, of Oakland; special uncle, Robert Seeley and his family; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Madeline Clark and Doris Wilson; and his son-in-law, Vernon Hersey. Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service 1 p.m. Friday at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Interment will be at Linneus Cemetery.
