PENOBSCOT – Lloyd Webster, 84, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 4, 2009, with his loving family by his side, at a Blue Hill hospital after a period of failing health. He was born Feb. 25, 1925, the son of Emery and Mabel Webster. Lloyd was the last living member of his family. Lloyd was employed by and retired from St. Regis/Champion/International Paper Co. He was in town affairs, having served on the board of selectman and school board. He and June took pleasure in visiting with the grandchildren and camping; they also enjoyed visiting many parts of the U.S. and Atlantic Canada. Lloyd had happy memories of fishing off Long Island and claming off Sunset. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, June; three daughters, Cheryl Knowles and husband, Jerry, of Machiasport, Vicki Falle and husband, Bruce, of Oromonto, New Brunswick, and Jacqueline Webster of Brewer; and seven grandchildren, Bethany Knowles-Bryer and husband, Ken, of Dexter, Erik Falle of St. John, New Brunswick, Claire Smith and husband, Steve, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Emilie Dawe and husband, Neal, of Ottawa, Charlotte McHattie and husband, Wade, of Oromonto, New Brunswick, Alecia Singh of Newark, Del., and January Knowles of Dexter. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Marissa Knowles, Shawna Knowles, Katlyn Falle, Ericka Falle, Maleah Falle, Rachel McHattie and Simone Dawe. Lloyd was predeceased by one grandson, Trevor Singh; and one granddaughter, Rebakah Falle. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Castine Cemetery, Castine, with the Rev. Tracy Reeves officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lloyd’s memory may be made to Hancock County Homecare Hospice, P.O. Box 156, Blue Hill, ME 04614. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
