BANGOR – Mary Ann (Hessert) Wade Parent, 62, died Aug. 9, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born Oct. 6, 1946, in Bangor, the daughter of Wilfred and Madeline (Clark) Hessert. She graduated from John Bapst High School in 1964. She spent 22 years married to the love of her life, Brian G. Parent of Orono, with whom she raised three children. Together Mary Ann and Brian provided a loving home for many foster children. Mary Ann graduated from the University of Maine and spent 15 years as a health records analyst. Mary Ann loved dancing and socializing with her many friends and admirers in the Bangor area. She enjoyed flower gardening, woodworking and other crafts, and family time at her camp on Rocky Pond, but her life’s passion was always her family. She is survived her children and their spouses, Wendy Parent, Teresa and Matthew Leahy, and Brian Parent and Pamela; grandchildren, Joshua, Julie, Ronald and Brianne; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Wilfred and Marion Hessert, Christine Hessert, Stephen and Louise Hessert, Elizabeth and Leo Roy, David Hessert and his fiancee, Christina, Anthony and Melany Hessert; mother-in-law, Pearl Wade; many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Brian Parent and Dennis Wade; and her sister, Susan Vigna. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service at her son, Brian’s home in Brewer.
