CHESTER, Va. – James Albert Costley, 66, formerly of Maine, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2009. He was born in Waterville, son of the late Albert and Hazel Alexander Costley. Mr. Costley was an avid fisherman. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service. Mr. Costley is survived by his daughter, Holly Costley of East Machias and Paula C. Maker and husband, Tony, of Machiasport; grandchildren, Seth, Jacob, Rachael, Hannah and Abigail; fianc?e, Anne C. Bledsoe of Chester, Va.; sisters, Reta Young and husband, Carroll, and Jane Haury and husband, Al; brother, Fred Costley; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, in the chapel at McGuire Virginia Medical Center. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to your local veteran organization.
